KITKA Womens Vocal Ensemble performs Wintersongs

Event starts in

24 Days 19 Hours 41 Minutes

The ethereal, haunting and beautiful songs of Kitka’s music has become a traditional and favorite concert for families throughout the Bay Area. Currently celebrating its 40th season, this amazing ensemble was founded through inspiration from traditional songs and vocal techniques from Eastern Europe and Eurasia. The group has earned international recognition for its distinctive sound, exploring a vast palette of ancient yet contemporary-sounding vocal effects. Wintersongs captures, celebrates and shares the power of community singing that would infuse warmth, cheer, spirituality, and wishes for peace, health, and good fortune into the long, dark, cold and difficult winter season across the Eastern European borders. This year’s Wintersongs program is subtitled “Weathering the Storm,” the first in a series of "Vocal Ecology" concerts and an artistic response to urgent environmental issues impacting us all. Come warm up the winter and celebrate the season through beautiful vocal harmonies. “Simply amazing harmonies…truly this is the most wonderful singing I have ever heard.” —David Crosby, CROSBY, STILLS, AND NASH General Admission $30 public / $37 day of Reserved Table Seats $35 public / $42 day of $15/20 Age 17 & under Concessions of Beer, Wine, Peets Coffee, Numi Teas, Sodas and fresh baked goods available for purchase

PWC Holiday Concerts Reinventing Love

Event starts in

31 Days 14 Hours 11 Minutes

A fresh look at the season of yearning – from the innocent and hushed to the passionate and daring. The ethereal Jerusalem, an unexpected Irish expression of growing love, contrasts with the lilting and spirited Pues Logra Ya from the Cuban Baroque, which compares the arrival of the Child to singing love into existence. The gripping double-chorus Seikilos by Metcalf, calls us to shine and love for as long as we live. Even when unseen, there is love for everyone in the world premiere of David Conte’s Mistletoe, and Rutter's Dancing Day dares us to dance and sing God's true love.

When: Saturday Dec 14 2:30pm

Where: St Mark's Episcopal Church

600 Colorado Ave Midtown Palo Alto CA
